In Horitschon he not only learned the art of winemaking from his father, but in doing so also discovered his great passion. After graduating from oenology school in Klosterneuburg, he completed some internships abroad. In 2000, having come closer to wine, he sought the geographic proximity and took over as oenological and organizational director of the Balf estate near Sopron. In doing this, he continued his father´s project, who already in 1997 had bought vineyards in the small village of Balf, close to the Austrian border.
